Singaporean company SuperX AI Technology Limited has proposed building a one-gigawatt national AI computing center in Kazakhstan, Orda.kz reports.
The company, which provides infrastructure services for artificial intelligence, presented the project to Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov during the Summer Davos Forum in Dalian, China, according to its press service.
The investment plan is designed for three years. SuperX proposes launching the project in stages: a 200 MW cluster in 2027, an additional 300 MW in 2028, and full capacity by 2029.
According to the company, the facility could become a major cross-border computing hub between Europe and Asia.
Representatives of SuperX and the Kazakh government also discussed creating a trilateral working group. Experts are still considering land allocation, stable electricity supply, tax incentives and training for local IT specialists.
The Kazakh side recommended that the investors assess possible locations to determine whether the project is technically feasible.
The timeline for signing contracts will be set after further negotiations.
