Astana Pensioner Fined for Dropping His Pants at Prosecutor General’s Office

An Astana court fined a pensioner 86,500 tenge after he removed his pants while passing through a metal detector at the Prosecutor General’s Office reception center, Orda.kz reports.
The court found him guilty of petty hooliganism. The pensioner denied wrongdoing and said he had taken off his pants as a joke.
Because administrative arrest cannot be imposed on people over 63, the court issued a fine of 20 MCI instead.
The ruling has not yet entered into force.
