Up to 400,000 jobs in Kazakhstan could disappear because of artificial intelligence, Deputy Minister of Labor Yerbol Tuyakbayev said, Orda.kz reports.
According to him, AI could begin replacing some professions over the next 10 years, especially in areas where direct human involvement is not essential.
We are talking about support staff, accountants, lawyers, and other professions where many processes can be automated. In these fields, we see a risk of about 300,000–400,000 jobs being cut. We understand this figure and are already preparing for these changes,Tuyakbayev said.
He added that the ministry has already launched retraining programs. Since the beginning of 2026, 186,000 people have received training in new professions.
