Independent testing found no quality problems in AI-95 and AI-98 gasoline produced by the Pavlodar refinery, despite widespread complaints from motorists, Orda.kz reports.

SGS Kazakhstan tested retained fuel samples on August 25. According to the refinery, they met national standards and EAEU technical requirements.

The samples are collected from every shipment, sealed and stored for 45 days in case of quality disputes.

The tests indicate that the gasoline met standards when it left the refinery. However, they do not explain why motorists began complaining. The Energy Ministry has not yet announced the results of its investigation.

Energy Minister Yerlan Akkenzhenov previously said refineries and gas station operators were blaming one another. A new batch of gasoline has been shipped from the Atyrau refinery, while motorists were asked to “be patient for several days.”
