Amendments to Article 31 of the Administrative Code will come into force on March 12. The changes concern the automatic recording of traffic violations, Orda.kz reports.
According to Serik Shumaev, head of the administrative police department of the Almaty police, the rules for drivers will remain the same. What changes is the method of recording violations.
Previously, cameras recorded six types of violations:
- speeding;
- running a red light;
- violating road markings and traffic signs;
- improper stopping or parking;
- violating overtaking rules;
- failing to give way to pedestrians.
Now the list will expand. Cameras will also be able to record drivers using a phone and driving without a seat belt.
In addition, integration with state databases will make it possible to detect violations related to documents, including the absence of insurance or an expired technical inspection. In some cases, the system will be able to issue warnings automatically.
