Dead seals have again been found on the Caspian coast in Aktau, Orda.kz reports.
This time, the carcasses were discovered near the Shagala recreation area. The incident became known after a video appeared on social media.
On May 24, specialists from the Mangystau region’s Ecology Department visited the site and took seawater samples. The test results will be announced later.
Mass seal deaths have repeatedly been recorded in the region. Earlier, dozens and even hundreds of dead seals were found along the Mangystau coast. Experts have named infections, weakened immunity, and environmental problems in the Caspian Sea as possible causes.
