Kazakhstanis May Be Barred From Traveling To War Zones

Kazakhstan may temporarily restrict citizens from traveling to countries affected by military conflicts, Orda.kz reports.
The government is also considering a new procedure for mobilizing national and domestic airlines during crises, as well as the possible purchase of special aircraft for emergency evacuations.
The measures were mentioned in Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov’s response to a parliamentary inquiry.
The issue arose after Kazakhstan evacuated citizens from the Middle East amid escalating tensions and airspace closures in the region. Officials said some citizens continued traveling to conflict zones during the evacuation, creating an additional burden.

The government also plans to improve the rapid mobilization of national and domestic air carriers in crisis situations. Officials may also consider purchasing special aircraft for emergency needs.
Around 4,000 Kazakh tourists were in Middle Eastern countries, according to Touristik Kamkor system codes. The government said about 3,000 people were provided with accommodation, meals, and seats on evacuation and repatriation flights.
