Six air taxi vertiports will appear in Kazakhstan by 2028, Orda.kz reports.
They will be located at strategically important urban and transport points. Security, transport accessibility, and integration with other infrastructure will be taken into account when choosing the sites.
According to the Ministry of Transport, the concept and design of the vertiports are being developed by an Italian international company with experience designing similar facilities in different countries.
An air taxi is an environmentally friendly type of air transport powered by electric motors. The aircraft can reach speeds of up to 200 km/h and fly distances of up to 200 kilometers.
Amendments regulating the operation of the new mode of transport will be introduced into legislation in the near future.
Deputy Transport Minister Talgat Lastaev and Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan CEO Michael Daniel have already taken an eVTOL air taxi flight over Alatau.
Representatives of Alatau Advance Air Group recently showed journalists a model of the aircraft.
