Kazakhstan and China have outlined new areas for cooperation during the 12th meeting of the Kazakh-Chinese Cooperation Committee, Orda.kz reports.
The meeting was held during First Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar’s visit to China.
The sides discussed efforts to enhance barrier-free trade, strengthen transport connectivity, implement joint investment projects, and expand cultural and humanitarian exchanges.
Several agreements were also signed to deepen cooperation in water resource management and archival affairs.
During separate talks with Vice Premier of the State Council of China Ding Xuexiang, discussions covered collaboration in trade, investment, logistics, agriculture, energy, and tourism. Bilateral trade reached $43.8 billion last year.
Sklyar underscored Kazakhstan’s focus on industrial growth and encouraged Chinese businesses to intensify partnerships with Kazakh enterprises. Chinese companies, in turn, expressed strong interest in participating in strategic projects across Kazakhstan.
