Kazakhstan is considering the introduction of lifetime payments for miners, Labor and Social Protection Minister Askarbek Yertayev said, Orda.kz reports.
According to him, the issue of regressive payments is constantly being raised by trade unions, so the ministry is now working through options for lifetime payments. At the same time, Yertayev said such payments cannot be financed from the budget alone.
Insurance companies, employers, the pension fund and the budget should all take part in this. But for now, employers and insurance companies have asked for time to discuss the issue internally and present their alternative proposals. We are expecting them. We have already held our first meeting with trade unions, employers and insurance companies.the labor minister said.
He added that a second meeting will be held this week, and that the authorities expect to receive calculations by the end of the month.
