Kazakhstan to Spend 1.1 Trillion Tenge in 2026 to Support People With Disabilities

At a government meeting, Labor and Social Protection Minister Askarbek Yertayev said the state will allocate 1.1 trillion tenge in 2026 to support people with disabilities, Orda.kz reports.
According to him, about 752,000 people with disabilities live in Kazakhstan, or 3.7% of the total population. The figure continues to grow: there were 711,800 in 2022, 725,000 in 2023, and 737,000 in 2024.
Total expenditures from the state budget and the State Social Insurance Fund this year amount to 1.1 trillion tenge. Of this amount, 571.1 billion tenge is allocated for state disability benefits, 124.1 billion for care allowances for parents raising children with disabilities, 56.7 billion for care allowances for people with first-group disabilities over the age of 18, and 4.7 billion for special state benefits for people with disabilities.Yertayev said.
He also said that 17 billion tenge will be allocated from the state fund for the construction of rehabilitation centers and the development of science, 190 billion for special social services, and 80.7 billion for technical aids and rehabilitation services.
