Teenager Killed in Talgar: Sherzat Polat's Father Claims to Have Been Threatened

        The father of the teenager killed in Talgar, Karzhaubay Nurymov, recorded a video message. He has expressed gratitude to for people's support. The man also requests people to refrain from protesting and reacting to provocations, Orda.kz reports.
According to Nurymov, the investigation is ongoing, and he receives assistance from lawyers.
I just returned from the police department in Qonayev. I am grateful to the people, grateful to Saltanat Nukenova's brother Aitbek Amangeldy. I want to resolve the issue peacefully and lawfully, I demand a fair trial. Please do not believe everything that is written on social networks. In the future, I will share information myself as the investigation progresses, Karzhaubay urged.
Nurymov says the Ministry of Internal Affairs contacted him. They keep him informed about the case investigation.
The man also fears for his family. He claims to have received threats.
They threatened me, called me under the pretext that they were lawyers, journalists, who once studied with me, intimidated me several times, carted me off. Please, no bloodshed. I demand an open trial. Do not react to provocations. Mothers should not cry, children should not die. My son died, now I do not want others to suffer,
said Sherzat's father.
16-year-old Sherzat Polat was killed on the night of October 4. The attackers fled before the police arrived. Seven suspects were detained the next day.
Recently, Talgar residents gathered in protest. People threatened to set themselves on fire and blocked roads.
