Pavlodar Resident Fined over "We Only Serve in Russian" Sign

A Pavlodar resident was fined after posting a sign reading "Service in Russian only,", reports Orda.kz.
In court, the woman explained that she put up the sign after an incident with a shop assistant.
When she had asked for some ground meat in Kazakh, the assistant insisted she speak only in Russian.
In response, the customer posted a notice on the shop's entrance door on Lermontov Street that read: 'Service in Russian only,' according to the Pavlodar court's press service.
The court ruled that the woman's actions had caused discontent and disturbed social order. She was fined 55,048 tenge.
