The ministry’s Center for International Relations stated that Polish law enforcement officers had detained the diplomat, and that the Kazakh side had already begun negotiations with foreign counterparts to resolve the situation.
According to the Ministry of Defense, all necessary measures are being taken to protect his rights and legitimate interests.
It was previously reported that the detainee’s name is Anuar B., and that he had worked as an assistant of the military attaché at the Kazakh embassy in Ukraine for about a year and a half. Polish authorities arrested him because diplomatic immunity only applied in Ukraine.
