Kazakhstan will introduce personal interest declarations for public officials from January 1, 2027, Orda.kz reports.

Under the new rules, officials must file the declaration within 15 working days of entering public service, taking a relevant position or being transferred.

They must disclose:

  • Relatives and other connected people working in the same institution
  • Other paid work, including teaching, research and creative activities
  • Business ownership or entrepreneurship during the previous year
  • Property transferred into trust management

Declarations will be submitted to the employer’s human resources department. Failure to submit one on time could result in disciplinary action.

Kazakhstan previously moved civil service recruitment fully online through the eQyzmet platform.
