Women-Only Rail Service Expands to Almaty–Tashkent Route

A women-only carriage will be introduced on the Almaty–Tashkent train from October 1, Orda.kz reports.

Train No. 1/2 runs daily, with tickets available 45 days before departure.

Tickets for the carriage are sold only to women, and it is staffed by female conductors. Boys aged seven or younger may travel when accompanied by an adult woman.

The service also operates on routes connecting Almaty, Astana, Mangystau, Aktobe, Atyrau, Pavlodar, Turkistan, Shymkent, Semey and Oral.

More than 946,000 passengers have used women-only carriages since the service was introduced.
