Toqayev Meets CITIC Group Chair to Discuss New Investment Projects in Kazakhstan

President Qasym-Jomart Toqayev met with Xi Guohua, Chair of the Board of Directors of China’s state-owned investment giant CITIC Group, to discuss expanding Chinese participation in major projects across Kazakhstan, Orda.kz reports.
CITIC Group, one of China's largest investment corporations, has already completed the early modernization of a bitumen plant in Aqtau.
Qasym-Jomart Toqayev expressed gratitude to CITIC Group for the effective implementation of the Aqtau Bitumen Plant modernization project, which was completed ahead of schedule – in April of this year,
Aqorda reported.
During the meeting, both sides explored opportunities for further cooperation in sectors such as energy, petrochemicals, road infrastructure, mining, and agriculture.
Aqorda emphasized that the President "greatly values the activities of CITIC Group as a reliable investment partner of Kazakhstan."
Xi Guohua, in turn, expressed the corporation’s interest in projects including oil refinery modernization, oil pipeline construction, reconstruction of the Center-West highway, and deep grain processing.
