Bolat Akchulakov, former presidential advisor, has been appointed as the new chair of Kazenergy Association, replacing Magzum Mirzagaliyev, who has taken Akchulakov's position as presidential advisor.
Both previously served as Kazakhstan's Energy Ministers.
This marks Akchulakov's return to Kazenergy, which he previously led from 2019 to 2021.
The association, uniting companies in oil, gas, electricity, and nuclear industries, has historically been a significant lobbying platform, with former chair Timur Kulibayev, oligarch and Nazarbayev's son-in-law, among its notable leaders.
Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister Tamara Duisenova has been transferred to the Presidential Administration as a presidential assistant.
Her replacement, Yermek Kosherbayev, moves from his position as East Kazakhstan Region's Akim, where environmental challenges in Oskemen and heating infrastructure issues in Ridder marked his tenure.
Kosherbayev brings extensive diplomatic experience, having served as ambassador to Switzerland and Russia and previously worked as an assistant to Toqayev during his time as Prime Minister.
