Today in Qaraganda, 23-year-old Alika Mukhamadieva delivered her final statement. She fully admitted her guilt and expressed remorse, Orda.kz reports.
During the debate, the prosecutor requested that Mukhamadieva be found guilty of inciting ethnic discord and sentenced to four and a half years in prison.
Mukhamadieva had posted controversial statements about Kazakhs on social media. The investigation concluded that her posts could have provoked social conflict, a finding supported by a forensic examination. The prosecutor stated that the accused’s remarks offended national sentiments and could have caused interethnic tension.
In her final statement, Mukhamadieva apologized:
Respected Court, I said everything I wanted to say, everything that was on my mind, at previous trials. But today I would like to apologize once again to everyone I offended. I am deeply ashamed. I don't know, I can't imagine, I am truly sorry. And I ask the court, when passing sentence, to take into account my full admission of guilt, my remorse, and the fact that I have a little daughter. You only begin to appreciate things when you lose everything, and I am very convinced of this. In all this rush for achievements and goals, you don't have time to live. Now I am ready to give everything to be with her again,Her words were quoted by Ekaraganda.
The court sentenced Mukhamadieva to three and a half years in prison, taking into account that she has a young daughter.
She received a postponement of her sentence, which, by law, cannot exceed five years from the date of the verdict.
