Kazakhstani Man Suspected of Creating Multi‑Billion Tenge Pyramid Extradited from Georgia

The man was detained in Georgia and taken to Kazakhstan. The case involves damages of more than 10 billion tenge, Orda.kz reports.
He was detained in Georgia in February 2026. Last week, he was brought to Kazakhstan and placed in a pre‑trial detention center. The extradition was organized by the Prosecutor General's Office and the Kazakhstan bureau of Interpol with the assistance of the Embassy in Tbilisi.
The detainee was a member of an organized group and from 2019 to 2021 managed the structures of a financial pyramid in different regions of Kazakhstan. The fraudsters promised people high profits and collected more than 10 billion tenge. the Prosecutor General's Office clarified.
Several accomplices have already been convicted and sent to a penal colony. The defendant fled the country, after which he was placed on the international wanted list. He now faces up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
