How Many Drugs Have Been Found in Kazakhstan Since Beginning of 2026, KNB Says

Since the start of 2026, employees of the National Security Committee have dismantled 14 drug supply channels, shut down underground laboratories and seized large consignments of prohibited substances, Orda.kz reports.
During the reporting period, a total of 11 international and three regional supply channels were eliminated, and the activities of five underground laboratories were neutralized.
Together with foreign partners, we conducted 10 international anti‑drug operations. As a result, about 240 kg of drugs were removed from trafficking, including 3.1 kg of heroin, 8 kg of methamphetamine, 53.5 kg of opium, 74.2 kg of hashish, 80.9 kg of marijuana and 19.3 kg of psychotropic substances. In addition, more than three tons of precursors were discovered and seized.the department shared.
A total of 51 people were detained on suspicion of involvement in the drug trade. Of these, 43 are citizens of Kazakhstan. Investigators are looking into all the facts, the National Security Committee added.
