In Almaty, Over 400 Companies Received Fictitious Licenses for Construction Work

A scheme involving fake licenses was uncovered in Almaty. The case was handled by the AFM department in the city under the coordination of the prosecutor’s office, Orda.kz reports.
According to the investigation, since 2021, the participants in the scheme, together with employees of the city department of urban planning control, had been entering fictitious data into the "E-licensing" system.
Through controlled companies, they provided information about the availability of industrial bases, special equipment, and qualified specialists. In reality, none of this existed.
As a result, more than 400 legal entities illegally obtained Category I licenses in the field of architectural, urban planning and construction activities, bypassing the existing qualification standards. the statement said.
The price for such "services" ranged from two to five million tenge.
During the searches, evidence was seized. The investigation continues.
