The prosecutor's office discovered bets placed on Olimpbet and 1XBET, including by managers, Orda.kz reports.
In Ulytau, 36 civil servants were dismissed for placing bets with bookmakers. Among them are 10 managers. The inspection revealed that officials made bets on Olimpbet and 1XBET after the law had already banned civil servants from participating in gambling.
The Anti‑Corruption Law considers this a corruption risk that undermines confidence in the civil service. As a result of the inspection, the prosecutor's office issued a supervisory act, and all 36 violators were dismissed. the statement said.
Earlier, we reported a similar case in Ekibastuz. There, the prosecutor's office found active accounts with bookmakers belonging to akimat employees. One of them, the head of a sector in the housing and communal services department, had a turnover of 6.8 million tenge. The materials were sent to the Ethics Council, and the head of the akim's office was held disciplinarily responsible for weak oversight.
