The Milliy Tiklanish party Chair, Alisher Qodirov, said that he supports the proposals of Russian politicians to introduce a visa regime with Central Asian countries, Orda.kz reports, citing Radio Ozodlik.
Qodirov proposed that all Central Asian countries unite and introduce a visa regime for Russians.
Given Russia's “expected instability” and the possible increase in the number of relocators to Uzbekistan, he sees this as an essential step.
I believe that against the backdrop of expected instability and a likely sharp increase in the number of relocators, not only we, but the entire Central Asian region should support the initiatives of Russian politicians to introduce a visa regime with Russia, as well as to tighten requirements and controls for those who go to work, Alisher Qodirov wrote on Telegram.
Alisher Qodirov's proposal to introduce a visa regime for Russian citizens came after recent statements by Russian politicians, notably the LDPR Chair, Leonid Slutsky.
He proposed creating a "Migrant Code," Deputy Sergei Mironov proposed introducing visas for Uzbekistan citizens.
The State Duma Speaker, Vyacheslav Volodin, had previously proposed that foreign children be tested on their knowledge of the Russian language before school admission.
Analysts believe this order will create new corruption schemes and increase the gap between Russians and migrants.
