Amir, 20, came to Almaty about two years ago to study at a university. However, an armed conflict soon broke out in his native Sudan, Orda.kz reports.
Due to the denial of asylum, he risked being stuck in the transit zone of Almaty airport.
The Kazakhstan International Bureau for Human Rights (KMBHR) reported that the situation was resolved relatively favorably.
He was given the opportunity to fly to one of the countries, without specifying which one, and he was allowed through there. Work for his case will continue. Special thanks to the border service for their understanding, humanity and assistance in resolving a number of problematic issues,
the message says.
