Employers in Kazakhstan may post up to 1.3 million vacancies on the Electronic Labor Exchange in 2026. This is 9% more than a year earlier, Orda.kz reports, citing Finprom analysts.
By the end of 2025, 1.09 million vacancies had been posted on the labor exchange. Depending on the economic development scenario, the largest number of job offers this year is expected in Astana, with about 128,000 vacancies. It is followed by Almaty with 102,000, Turkestan region with 98,000, Pavlodar region with 88,000 and Karaganda region with 77,000.
The fewest vacancies are forecast for Ulytau region, with 19,000, Mangistau region with 26,000 and Zhetysu region with 28,000.
The main demand will remain in education, health care, manufacturing, agriculture, trade, public administration and social security.
According to the forecast, the most in-demand profession of the year will be general laborers, with employers expected to open more than 80,900 vacancies. The top 10 also includes other unskilled workers, janitors, outdoor and indoor cleaners, teachers, kindergarten teachers, medical workers and nursing staff.
The top five most in-demand professions are:
- general laborers — 80,900 vacancies;
- other unskilled workers — 63,900;
- janitors and outdoor cleaners — 50,800;
- secondary school social science teachers — 33,500;
- nursing staff — 26,300.
The forecast shows that Kazakhstan’s labor market still has strong demand for mass blue-collar and low-skilled occupations.
At the same time, employers also need teachers and medical workers, as shortages persist amid population growth and the expansion of social infrastructure.
