Shoot for the Stars: Baiterek Project to Launch in 2028

The design and estimate documentation for the Kazakh-Russian Baiterek project is complete, and construction is already underway, Vice Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry Doszhan Mussaliyev announced on the sidelines of the Majilis, Orda.kz reports.
According to Mussaliyev, test launches without payloads are scheduled in 2027 to verify all systems:
Full-scale launches will begin in 2028. We're planning four rocket launches per year, three of which have already been guaranteed by the Russian side,he said.
He also noted that the Baiterek project is being implemented under a separate intergovernmental agreement with Russia. When asked whether other countries might join the initiative, a representative from the International Center for the Development of Space Research and the Aerospace Industry said there is no such information at this time.
Earlier, we reported that Kazakhstan and Russia had agreed to increase the number of launches from Baikonur.
