Kazakhstan Carries Out 12 Evacuation Flights From the Middle East

Kazakhstan continues to evacuate its citizens from the Middle East amid the worsening situation in the region. Since the start of the operation, 12 flights have been carried out, bringing more than 3,300 people back home, Orda.kz reports.
In addition to air evacuations, some citizens are being taken out by land. On March 6, Kazakhstan’s diplomatic missions in Iran plan to send seven Kazakh citizens — employees of Zarkuh Company — to the Iranian-Armenian border.
Earlier, diplomats in Tehran and Yerevan organized the evacuation of another 34 employees of the same company from Iran. They crossed the Iranian-Armenian border by bus. In total, 52 Kazakh citizens have already been evacuated from Iran.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Kazakhstan’s diplomatic missions in the region continue to coordinate the evacuation and remain in contact with citizens until the operation is fully completed.
Earlier, the ministry reported that several thousand Kazakh citizens could be in Middle Eastern countries. Some of them have already returned home on organized flights.
Orda.kz previously wrote about how Kazakh citizens are being evacuated from the Middle East. A woman who said she was one of the passengers on an evacuation flight contacted the editorial office’s Telegram bot. She shared photos and described her impressions of returning home.
