Since the beginning of spring, the audience of Alma TV, one of the Kazakhstani pay-TV operators, has faced a lack of broadcasting from the usual TV channels, including Channel One and other Russian TV channels. An Orda.kz correspondent found out why the company decided to stop retransmitting the digital TV family.
Since 28 February 2026, the company has stopped retransmitting all Russian TV channels belonging to the same group. The following channels are no longer included in the broadcast grid:
- «Первый канал. Всемирная сеть»
- «Музыка первого»
- «Время далёкое и близкое»
- «O»
- «Карусель»
- «Дом кино»
- «Дом кино Премиум»
- «Бобёр»
- «Поехали»
- «Победа»
- «Телекафе»
- «Ланки Live»
The stated reason for this is that the temporary permission to broadcast from the copyright holder has expired.
In return, the operator noted that they have prepared alternative premium TV channels. Based on responses from the call centre regarding consumer queries, the company anticipates a counter decision from foreign TV channel representatives to resume cooperation.
According to consumers of the services, Channel One, NTV and others have also disappeared from the broadcasting grids of other operators. In return, they added channels that can only be watched with a separate subscription.
