Tokayev Orders Tighter Security for Kazakhstan’s Critical Infrastructure

Tokayev instructed the Security Council to tighten control over the country’s critical infrastructure, Orda.kz reports.
This was announced by the press secretary of the head of state, Aibek Smadiyarov.
Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed the Prime Minister, the heads of law enforcement agencies, Samruk-Kazyna and national companies, as well as regional akims, to strengthen efforts to ensure the security of life-support facilities, transport, energy and key infrastructure, including airports, sea and river ports. he said.
The work of the agencies responsible for infrastructure security will be coordinated by the Secretary of the Security Council.
Earlier we reported that amid growing instability in the Persian Gulf and large-scale attacks on Iran, the Kazakh authorities switched law enforcement agencies to round-the-clock operations. Since the beginning of the hostilities, about a thousand Kazakhstanis have returned from the region, but several thousand are still in the Middle East. Kazakhstan has offered assistance and support to the countries under attack, while at the same time reaffirming its neutrality in the conflict.
