Russian Citizen Fined for Solitary Picket Supporting Ukraine in Almaty

On February 25, a court fined a Russian citizen for a solitary picket supporting Ukraine, Orda.kz reports.
On February 24, 24-year-old Russian Timofey Morozov held a solo protest on Republic Square in Almaty.
On the day marking the third year of Russia's war against Ukraine, Morozov held a poster with the inscription: "Ukraine will win. Russia will be free."
The police detained him.
On February 25, the detainee was tried. He was charged under Part 9 of Article 488 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Kazakhstan "Violation of The Legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan on The Procedure for Organizing and Holding Peaceful Assemblies Committed by a Foreigner."
At the court hearing, Morozov and his lawyer admitted guilt in committing an administrative offense. They confirmed the facts set out in the case materials. They asked for a fine to be imposed,
the court's decision says.
He will have to pay 50 MCI (196.6 thousand tenge).
