A camera trap in Altyn-Emel National Park captured a golden eagle and a herd of goitered gazelles sharing the same watering hole, Orda.kz reports.

The eagle showed little interest in the herd, while the gazelles appeared in no hurry to leave. They would ordinarily avoid the predator, which can hunt young gazelles.

Park specialists attributed the unusual behavior to extreme heat. With water especially important during hot weather, the animals’ need to drink appeared to outweigh their usual caution.
