A Russian citizen held a solitary protest in Republic Square, reports Orda.kz, citing "Til Kespek Joq."
On the afternoon of February 24, Timofey Morozov staged a protest coinciding with the anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
He displayed a poster reading: "Ukraine will win. Russia will be free."
Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine has been going on for three years now. I want everyone to remember that Ukraine will definitely win. The regime in the Russian Federation will be overthrown. What comes after the Russian Federation will be free, he said.
Morozov, who arrived in Kazakhstan in 2024, conducted the protest without coordinating with local authorities.
When questioned about possible deportation risks, Morozov stated:
"I'm afraid, but I think it's my duty to go out."
According to the Telegram channel "Til Kespek Joq," Morozov was subsequently detained by police.
