The son of Natalia Nagovitsina, who was stranded with a broken leg on Pobeda Peak, has appealed to the Prosecutor General, the Russian Foreign Ministry, and the Russian ambassador for help.

He believes his mother is alive and that there is still time to launch a rescue operation, Orda.kz reports.

Mikhail Nagovitsin posted an appeal and a video on social media, where he says his mother can be seen waving from a tent a week after losing contact.

In the video I received from maga.fpv, you can clearly see that seven days after the loss of communication, she is actively waving her hand, full of energy,  writes Mikhail.

According to forecasts, the weather window will close in two days, after which a rescue will become impossible. On August 23, the Kyrgyz Ministry of Emergency Situations announced that the woman had died and called off the operation.

Mikhail Nagovitsin said a rescue team had been ready to ascend with a drone, but on the morning of August 25, it was unexpectedly disbanded. Meanwhile, a volunteer came forward who was prepared to climb alone.

His appeal received a response from Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova, who said Russian diplomats “from day one have been doing everything possible” to save the mountaineer while staying in contact with her relatives.
