The trial of bloggers Damir Kusheyev and Ruslan Karimov will be restarted with a new jury after two consecutive health incidents disrupted the proceedings, Orda.kz reports.
At the last hearing, the judge presiding over the case fell ill during the hearing. Today, one of the jurors also required medical attention.
As a result, the court ruled to postpone the trial and begin anew on October 28.
Kusheyev and Karimov, along with entrepreneurs Kurmangazy Aitmykanov and Andrei Belyansky, are charged under Part 4 of Article 194 of the Criminal Code of Kazakhstan — “Extortion on an especially large scale by a group acting in conspiracy.”
