KEGOC Seeks to Increase Profits by Raising Tariffs

KEGOC Managing Director for Economics and Finance Aigul Akimabayeva discussed the company's plans for 2025, Orda.kz reports.
The Kazakhstan Electricity Grid Management Company expects its profit to increase to 59-60 billion tenge next year.
Aigul Akimbayeva says this result will be achieved through increased production volumes, operation optimization, and tariff adjustments.
At the beginning of next year, in March, we plan to apply to the Antimonopoly Committee with a proposal to slightly increase the tariff. This is necessary to include in the tariff the costs of the project to unite the Western Energy Zone of Kazakhstan with the national system,she clarified.
The project Akimbayeva is discussing is considered strategic for the development of the country's energy system, but its implementation will require additional costs, which will be the basis for adjusting tariffs.
In the first three quarters of 2024, KEGOC top managers' remuneration increased by 56% compared to the same period in 2023, reaching 577 million tenge.
In 2024, KEGOC earned 232.4 billion tenge, increasing its financial assets to 43.4 billion tenge.
Expenses for maintaining the board of directors amounted to 12.2 million tenge.
