Kazakhstan-registered Companies in EU Sanctions Package: Minister Provides Details

Minister of Trade and Integration Arman Shakkaliyev has provided information about the Kazakhstan-registered companies included in the European Union's 16th sanctions package, Orda.kz reports.
The Minister identified the two companies as Kazstanex and Metallstan LLP.
They were engaged in deliveries in the field of mechanical engineering, for certain types of equipment. Today, these companies, according to the State Revenue Committee, do not conduct foreign economic activity, they work only in the territory of Kazakhstan. They did not close, but changed their types of activities, said Arman Shakkaliyev on the sidelines of the Majilis.
Shakkaliyev emphasized that Kazakhstan fulfills its obligations regarding dual-use goods.
He noted that the European Union compiles sanctions lists, and the Ministry cannot predict which companies might be included to prevent violations.
Recently, reports surfaced that Kazakhstan-based companies have been placed under European sanctions.
The EU Council has added 53 new organizations to its list of entities supporting Russia's military-industrial complex in its war against Ukraine. These companies now face stringent export restrictions.
