In Beijing, Kazakhstan's primary agricultural producers signed memorandums and agreements with ten Chinese companies worth a billion dollars, Orda.kz reports, citing the Ministry of Agriculture.
The delegation from Kazakhstan was headed by the Minister of Agriculture Aidarbek Saparov.
He said a large share of domestic agricultural exports to China today consists of grain and oilseed crops, as well as vegetable oils.
In addition, Kazakhstan has good prospects for exporting livestock products, including beef, lamb, poultry, dairy products, and honey. The Chinese market is particularly interested in grain exports.
In 2023, the volume of grain supplies to China increased 5.5 times and reached 1.4 million tons. According to the results of the first nine months of this year, Kazakhstani companies shipped 1.1 million tons of grain to China, the head of the department clarified.
Deputy Minister of Trade and Integration Kairat Torebayev previously spoke about the planned promotion of Kazakhstan's wheat brand in the new markets of Pakistan, Indonesia, Brazil, and Malaysia.
In turn, Chinese investors name the production of organic products in Kazakhstan as one of the potentially attractive areas.
