The Health Ministry has revised Kazakhstan’s Mandatory Social Health Insurance rules, updating access to care, contribution payments and insured status, Orda.kz reports.
Foreign nationals and stateless persons permanently residing in Kazakhstan will be eligible for coverage, along with certain temporarily staying foreigners and their family members.
People who stop paying contributions will remain insured for three months. Those who paid continuously for five years will keep their coverage for up to six months.
If someone belongs to several state-covered groups, the system will check whether they remain eligible under another category before canceling their coverage.
People entitled to state-covered insurance but missing from government databases may receive temporary status for one month after submitting supporting documents.
Coverage will also remain active during technical failures. Government agencies and the Social Health Insurance Fund will exchange and update information automatically each day.
