Third Kazakh Woman Reported Missing in Nepal-China Flood Zone

A third tourist from Kazakhstan may be missing following catastrophic floods along the Nepal-China border,  Orda.kz reports.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhanbolat Usenov said diplomats were checking reports that the tourist had been in the disaster zone.

Kazakh diplomats are working with the authorities of both countries. The search for our citizens continues,Usenov said.

Two other Kazakh women were previously reported missing. One had reportedly crossed from Nepal into China with a tour group.

The August 26 disaster was triggered by a glacier collapse that sent ice, rocks and mud through Himalayan valleys. More than 620 people have died, while over 2,400 remain missing.
