Around 400 trucks heading to Kyrgyzstan have accumulated at the Karasu checkpoint in Kazakhstan’s Zhambyl Region, Orda.kz reports.

The State Revenue Committee attributed the congestion to a seasonal increase in freight traffic and temperature-related restrictions on trucks in Kyrgyzstan.

The checkpoint is operating in enhanced mode. Police are regulating traffic, while some trucks are being redirected to neighboring crossings.

Kazakh authorities are coordinating with Kyrgyz officials and advising carriers to consider alternative routes when planning journeys.
