On September 3, U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said that President Donald Trump has instructed the Pentagon to prepare for a large-scale restructuring of the armed forces to ensure they are capable of deterring, Orda.kz reports, citing Fox News.
According to Hegseth, this step is not about provoking confrontation but about reducing the risk of one. “Being prepared prevents conflict,” he stressed.
That is why President Trump has charged us at the Department of Defense to be prepared to rebuild our military and reastablish deterrence. Not because we seek conflict and we`ve been clear about that with China, Russian and others, Hegseth stated.
The defense secretary added that the administration’s goal is to maintain America’s strategic advantage across all domains — in space, in the air, at sea, and underwater.
