Toqayev Begins Visit to Kyrgyzstan with Tribute at Ata-Beyit Memorial

Kazakhstan’s President Qasym-Jomart Toqayev arrived in Kyrgyzstan to take part in the seventh meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council, Orda.kz reports.
The visit began with a stop at the Ata-Beyit National Historical and Memorial Complex, where victims of Stalinist repressions are buried. Toqayev laid flowers at the monument to the victims of the 1916 events.
The name “Ata-Beyit” was proposed by the renowned Kyrgyz writer Chingiz Aitmatov.




Afterwards, the Kazakh president honored the memory of the writer himself.
Later, at the “Yntymak Ordo” residence, Toqayev met with his Kyrgyz counterpart, Sadyr Japarov. The two leaders then proceeded to the negotiation hall.
