Kazakhstan plans to introduce new license plates for electric cars, Orda.kz reports.
The Mazhilis has adopted a draft law on digitalization, personal data protection, and traffic.
The bill affects several areas at once, including road safety, driving schools, personal data protection, cybersecurity, digital charity, and new types of transport.
One section concerns traffic rules. Deputies propose clarifying the procedure for using technical devices that record traffic violations. They also want to install violation-recording devices on ambulances and passenger buses.
The document also introduces a permit procedure for driving schools. To receive such permission, a driving school must have a material and technical base, a training circuit, training sites, training vehicles, and qualified instructors.
A state register of driving schools authorized to train drivers is also expected to be created.
Green license plates are proposed for electric cars. Electric bicycles may also be regulated in the same way as mopeds.
In addition, traffic rules may be fully extended to parking areas in residential complexes.
