Three forest fires were recorded within 24 hours in the Semey Ormany State Forest Nature Reserve, Orda.kz reports.
Preliminary findings indicate that all three fires were caused by lightning during thunderstorms.
The fires were detected early during aerial patrols by Kazavialesookhrana, Kazakhstan’s aerial forest protection service, and through the reserve’s early wildfire detection system.
This allowed forest rangers and aerial firefighting crews to respond quickly and prevent the flames from spreading.
The Forestry and Wildlife Committee said all three fires affected only small areas and were extinguished promptly because of the coordinated response and timely deployment of equipment.
Fire danger remains high across Kazakhstan. Authorities urged people to follow fire safety rules while outdoors, protect forests and leave natural areas clean.
