Four forest fires were extinguished across Kazakhstan in a single day, Orda.kz reports.

According to the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, one new fire was reported on state-managed forest land on July 19. The fire broke out in the Karabutak forestry area of the Aktobe Region and was completely extinguished.

Crews also finished putting out three earlier fires:

  • Two fires in the Ereymentau District of the Akmola Region that began on July 15.
  • One fire in the East Kazakhstan Region that began on July 18.

The ministry said forestry workers and Kazavialesookhrana crews had contained and extinguished all four fires.

The risk of new forest fires remains high because of hot weather. The ministry urged people to follow fire safety rules in forests and other natural areas.
