Three New Forest Fires Reported Across Kazakhstan

Forest fires broke out in the Akmola, East Kazakhstan and Pavlodar regions on July 18, Orda.kz reports. The Pavlodar Region fire is burning in Bayanaul National Park.
State forestry workers and Kazavialesookhrana crews are searching for hotspots and fighting the fires. Emergency Situations Ministry units will be deployed if needed.
Meanwhile, the forest fire in the Semey Ormany reserve, which began on July 16, was contained on the morning of July 19.
Helicopters conducted 319 water drops during the operation, delivering 709 tons of water.
Open flames were put out on July 17. Crews are now working to eliminate the remaining smoldering hotspots.
