Three Detained After Six Workers Die in Sewer Well at Pavlodar Farm
Pavlodar Region police have detained three suspects as part of a pretrial investigation into the deaths of six workers in a sewer well at the Aqtogai Milk dairy farm, Orda.kz reports.
Police said investigators were carrying out the necessary procedures to establish the full circumstances of the incident.
Three suspects have been detained and placed in a temporary detention facility, police reported.
The accident occurred on July 20. Six workers died from suspected gas poisoning while repairing an electric pump inside the sewer well. A seventh worker was hospitalized.
The six men who died were born in 1963, 1975, 1983, 1998, 2006 and 2009. The youngest victim was 16 or 17 years old.
According to publicly available records, Aqtogai Milk belongs to Alexander Terentyev, a member of the Pavlodar Regional Maslikhat. He expressed his condolences and said the company would provide assistance to the victims’ families.
