Six Die from Gas Poisoning During Sewer Repairs in Pavlodar Region

Six people died in a sewer chamber at Aqtogai Milk in the Pavlodar Region, Orda.kz reports.
According to Kerek.pv, the victims were exposed to gas while repairing an electric pump. A seventh person was hospitalized. A minor was among those who died.
Publicly available information and social media profiles indicate that Aqtogai Milk is owned by Pavlodar regional maslikhat deputy Alexander Terentyev.
Pavlodar Region police confirmed that an investigation had been launched.
A criminal case has been opened. Further information cannot be disclosed,the police said.
The regional health department said the survivor was admitted to Aktogay District Hospital with moderate carbon dioxide poisoning. The patient is receiving treatment and does not need to be transferred to Pavlodar, according to a report citing regional authorities.
