East Kazakhstan Leads The Country In Workplace Injuries

East Kazakhstan region recorded the highest number of workplace injuries in Kazakhstan in 2025, Orda.kz reports.
In total, 2,328 workplace accidents were registered across the country. East Kazakhstan accounted for 287 cases, or 12.3% of the national total.
Karaganda region ranked second, with 277 people injured at work, according to the Bureau of National Statistics.
The largest share of accident victims was recorded in manufacturing, with 255 people, followed by mining with 130 and construction with 18. Most victims were skilled workers aged 30 to 45,the bureau said.
Overall, Kazakhstan’s workplace injury rate fell by 5.8% compared with the previous year.
Less than a month ago, an explosion occurred at a plant in East Kazakhstan region, in the smelting section of an electrolysis workshop. Two workers died, and five others sought medical help.
